Plaxo Grew From 2,00,000 Users to 1 Million Users In Less Than a Month: OpenSocial Effect

Plaxo joined the Google backed OpenSocial community couple of weeks ago and the number of connections skyrocketed from 2,00,000 to 10,00,000. This is an amazing 5 folds growth which is forcing Plaxo to purchase new hardware and infrastructure.

This chart that shows trends for growth of Plaxo Pulse's social graph since launch in August 2007. You can notice the surge in graph coincides with the adoption of Google OpenSocial platform.

This show how strong is the acceptance of OpenSocial  by social networking users and the developers who can write a gadget once and deploy on all the OpenSocial enabled websites. This automatically motivates all the other social networking websites to join OpenSocial.
