Two days after Yahoo announced its top search trends for 2007,Google also released fastest-rising global search terms:

The top most search term on Google for the year 2007 was iPhone, with technology and entertainment topping the list of search in the year 2007.
“iPhone, of course, is a word very few people typed in a search box in 2006. It didn’t exist then,” said Marissa Mayer of Google.
"Webkinz World" is a social network site which "adopt" a virtual version of the pet for virtual interaction.
Celebrity news Web site TMZ ranked third, while transformer toys took the No. 4 slot.
Transformers are the wildly popular toys that shift their shapes, for example from cars to alien robots, and they got a big boost from the 2007 hit movie "Transformers."
Club Penguin is an online game developed by New Horizon Interactive.The game is designed for children ages six to fourteen, though available to anyone.
Anna Nicole Smith, was an American sex symbol, model, actress, celebrity, and spokeswoman.
"There's a lot of interest in the celebrity culture, television and movies," said Mayer.
